Help & questions
Everything you need to know about TripMates — deals, search, alerts, subscriptions and your account. Aérox 🦊 explains it all.
Service coverage
General & how it works
TripMates hunts down the best flight deals for you. Aérox, our travelling fox, watches prices and highlights the real bargains. You can also search for your own flights and get alerted as soon as a gem matches your criteria.
We compare each price to its usual range: a flight becomes a “deal” when its price drops clearly below normal (the discount is shown as a %). The catalogue is updated regularly.
You choose your own departure airports in My account → Preferences. Destinations cover the whole world, with priority on the most requested ones.
Aérox keeps an eye on a network of 466 airports across 158 countries — that many possible departure points and destinations where a deal can turn up. You set your departure airports and preferences in My account → Preferences, and alerts adapt to your criteria. This network keeps growing as new destinations are added.
Not necessarily: most deals are for departures a few weeks to a few months away. The idea is to give you time to book at your own pace.
TripMates shows you the offer then redirects you to the booking site (airline or comparison site) to finalise. Prices move fast, so it’s best not to wait too long.
For now, we focus on flights. Other services may come later.
Yes, nothing stops you from booking several tickets from a deal, subject to availability at the time of booking.
Deals & search
The home page shows a preview of deals to everyone. The full catalogue is reserved for Bon plan and Premium subscribers.
Go to Flights: enter departure, destination and dates. Flight search is reserved for subscribers (Bon plan or Premium).
Instead of fixed dates, you give a month and a stay length, and TripMates finds the best dates at the best price over the period. Flexible search is part of the Premium plan.
Yes: in My account → My requests, describe the trip you’re looking for (departures, destinations, months or exact dates). Aérox uses it to hunt down targeted deals, and you’re notified as soon as there are results.
It depends on your plan: 1 per year on Free, 1 per month on Bon plan, 2 per month on Premium.
We favour direct flights or ones with a short stopover, to spare you long journeys.
Deals that are still valid always come before expired ones, and the default sort is best discount. You can change the sort at any time, or tick “Valid only” to hide expired offers entirely.
Each trip takes up a single card, so the list stays readable. If several flights exist for the same route and dates, they are grouped behind “+N more flights”: unfold them to see the airline, stopovers and price of each.
Yes. Your filters, sort and page are kept in the page address: you can go back, reload or send the link to someone, and the view will be the same.
Type a city or a country — both work, and accents do not matter (“crete” finds “Crète”).
That means a network problem, not an empty catalogue: a “Retry” button appears and reloads the list. If it persists, check your connection then write to us.
Notifications & alerts
In My account → Settings → Notifications, turn on “New deals”. You can receive alerts in-app (the bell) and/or by email. Good news: deal alerts are available to everyone, even with a free account.
Alerts automatically use your departure airports and favourite destinations set in Preferences — you only fill that in once. If it’s empty, you’re alerted for all departures and all destinations.
It’s the minimum discount (for example −30%) from which a deal triggers an alert. You set it in Notifications.
Yes: when one of your travel requests finds flights, you receive a notification (bell and/or email depending on your preferences).
Check your spam and add the TripMates sender to your contacts. You can also set a different notification email in Settings.
Subscriptions & payment
Free (deal preview), Bon plan (full catalogue + alerts + round-trip & one-way search) and Premium (everything + flexible search, more requests and favourites). There is also the Ambassador programme, a one-time lifetime payment. Exact prices are on the Plans page.
Yes: Bon plan and Premium exist monthly and yearly. The yearly plan is billed once for twelve months and costs less than twelve monthly payments — the saving percentage is shown on the Plans page. Switch between the two with the selector at the top of the plans, and prices update live.
From the Plans page, choose your plan and billing rhythm, then follow the secure Stripe payment. You can choose before you even have an account: we then ask for an email address and a password, keep your choice aside, and offer it back to you after you sign in so you can confirm. No payment is ever started without your confirmation. Your travel preferences come later, at your own pace.
Yes: 7 days free on Bon plan and Premium, monthly or yearly, on the same terms for everyone. Before you confirm, the screen tells you in plain words “€0 today, then [amount] from [date]”: you know exactly when and how much you will be charged. You enter your card at sign-up, enjoy everything for 7 days, then the subscription starts at the announced price. Cancel before the end from My account and no charge is made. The trial is for new subscribers only (once per account).
In My account → Account, “Manage / cancel” opens the Stripe portal. No commitment, cancel anytime: cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Money-back guarantee: you can get a refund of your last payment in one click, within the 14 days that follow it, once per account. It applies to a monthly payment as well as a yearly one — it is the last amount charged that is returned. Your subscription is cancelled immediately and the money reappears on your card within 5 to 10 days. These 14 days come on top of the 7-day trial.
Yes. Payments go through Stripe: your card details never pass through TripMates.
Yes, it renews automatically, and you can cancel whenever you want.
Account & support
From the sign-in page, with Google or by email (a verification code is sent to you).
In My account → Account → Security, “Change my password” sends you a link by email. If you signed up with Google, manage your password on Google’s side.
The “Sign out” button is at the top of My account.
For now, your favourites and search history are kept on this device only — they never reach our servers, so they do not follow you from a phone to a computer. A favourite is kept for 14 days, then expires automatically; you can also remove it sooner.
Two routes. Signed in: My account → Account → Danger zone, and deletion starts immediately. Without signing in: our public Delete my account page, where a form records your request. Either way, your travel requests and notifications are deleted immediately and your account is closed within 30 days. Remember to cancel an active subscription first, otherwise deletion is blocked.
Ambassador
A lifetime status (one-time payment) that gives full access, your own search tools and referrals. By joining the programme, you support the development of TripMates.
Yes: ambassadors are the first to test and enjoy new features, before they go live for everyone.
You share your personal link. Everyone who creates an account via this link becomes your referral: you earn credits when they sign up, then more credits when they become a paying member.
Credits are used to run searches when you use the TripMates API (1 credit per search). You can buy them in packs.
In “My own key” mode, you use your own SerpAPI key (free, but with no fallback if the key is missing). In “TripMates search” mode, you go through our API (1 credit per search).
From the Plans page, choose the Ambassador offer (limited spots).
